Having received their 2012 matric results, learners are in the process of considering and acting on various study options that their results permit them to explore. One of the options learners should consider, and which is frequently referred to by the Minister of Higher Education and Training in his speeches, is to take up further studies at Further Education and Training colleges.
28 Nov 2012 - Financial support to Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges has increased into billions of rand, Chartered Accountants have been appointed to put in financial management systems and new councils are currently being appointed to strengthen governance in colleges across the country. These are some of the practical steps Minister of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Dr Blade Nzimande, has taken in dealing with the current governance and administrative capacity shortcomings in FET Colleges.
